Safety & Communication Guide
How We’ll Keep You Informed
Text Messages & Social Media: We’ll share any race-day updates—like weather delays or schedule changes—through text alerts, email, and social media.
On-Site Announcements: Listen for instructions over the park-wide speaker system or from event staff using microphones.
Volunteers & Staff: Our team members and volunteers will be available throughout the course to answer questions and guide you if needed.
In Case of an Emergency
Here’s what you should do if something happens during the event:
Severe Weather (lightning, high winds, etc.)
If weather becomes unsafe, the race may be delayed or canceled. Follow instructions from staff and move to the nearest shelter area (restrooms, pavilions, or other designated buildings).
Medical Emergency
If you see someone injured or in distress, alert the nearest volunteer or staff member immediately. Medical personnel and EMS are on-site and ready to help.
Course Hazard (fallen tree, flooding, etc.)
If you encounter an obstacle or unsafe condition on the course, alert the nearest volunteer. We may temporarily reroute or pause the race if needed.
Where to Find Help
EMS & Ambulance: Located near the finish line and other high-traffic areas.
First Aid Kits: Available at water stations and key points along the route.
Shelter Areas: Clearly marked around the park (look for restrooms and covered pavilions).
Before, During, and After the Race
Before: Listen for pre-race announcements about safety procedures and shelter locations.
During: Follow directions from volunteers, staff, or loudspeaker announcements.
After: Any important updates or follow-ups will be shared via email or social media.
