Collegiate Points Series

The New York State Paddlesport Racing association is pleased to announce the 2026 Collegiate Points Series.

Three races will be a part of the inaugural point series:
Students racing in a C4 Stock canoe at these races will accrue points for their school.
  • First place Collegiate will get 15 points, second place will get 14, etc.
  • The top three boats from each school will be scored.
  • Full men's C4s will only receive half the points they would otherwise be assigned. Mixed and women's boats will receive full points.
  • Collegiate canoes will NOT have a seperate starting line, but will be competing against everyone in the C4 Stock Class.

This year, to facilitate greater accessibility and attendance amongst colleges, each school will be allowed one substitution race if they are unable to attend one of the three primary races.

  • Teams may select one alternative race of their choosing to compete in the C4 Stock class. The selected race does NOT need to be a NYPRA race.
  • Teams will receive 1 point towards the Collegiate Cup Points Standings for every paddler in attendance, up to 12 paddlers (or in other terms, three C4 teams = 12 points). If a school can only fill one C4 boat they will receive 2 points per paddler.
  • Each paddler in attendance must compete in order to receive points.
  • Teams must contact NYPRA to get approval for race substitution and points added to their College Cup Standings before the Seneca Monster.

Awards will be given for the top three college teams at each race, and a Championship Cup will be presented to the winning school following the Seneca Monster.

If your school would like to compete, but does not have access to equipment, please see our Contact Us page and we will connect you with resources.
