You will be welcoming and directing other volunteers, GOTR coaches, participants, and supporters from the parking areas and public transit into the venue and providing general information on where to go, especially with regard to team meeting areas. As participants finish, you will help direct the crowd how to exit including finding their transportation to leave.

Coach Check-In

Details

You will assist at Coach check-in collecting program material bags and handing out team 5K kits and coach gifts. Once all teams have checked in, you will help break down the bags and sort unused materials. When this task is completed you will be able to cheer on the 5K finishers.

Registration

Details

You will be helping with day of registrations, and pre-registered packet pick up including t-shirts and bibs. (To prepare for the morning, please download the Race Day Checkin app on your smartphone.) Once registration is done you are encouraged to stay and cheer on the girls or if you need to leave, you are free to go.

You will be attending the GOTR Info and Lost and Found tent.
Your main role will be to answer/or direct people to the right GOTR staff member for any questions. You are able to also line the finish area to cheer on runners as well.

Course

Start/Finish Line

Details

You will help with the wave start process at the beginning of the run. This season, we will be doing a “happy pace” wave start - Runners first, Run/Walkers next, and then Walkers to help with the flow of runners and walkers leaving the infield.
You will also be unloading and setting up materials for the finish line (bottled water, fruit, snack bars and medals) and then distributing these to participants as they finish the 5K.

Water Stop High Priority

You will be setting up the water stations pre-race and distributing water to runners as they pass the stations. You will also help clean up the area once the final runners have passed.

Course Marshal / Course Cheer Squad High Priority

Details

You will help the GOTR + Conventures team manage the route during the race and once the final athletes pass by.
This course is new for GOTR so it is important to actively monitor your part of the course to help us maintain a safe running environment.
In addition to monitoring the course, please also cheer and encourage the runners along the route!

Timing

You will be assisting the Granite State Timing Services team with timing related tasks prior to and during the 5K. You will be located near the start/finish so you will be able to cheer on the participants.

Spirit

Bling Your Bib and Spirit Crew

Details

The Spirit Crew will be doing a variety of activities throughout the morning including: assist at the Bling Your Bib tables, encourage participants to visit the on-field activations, encourage participans to Bling their Bib, distribute body glitter to participants and assisting with GOTR temporary tattoos and cheer on the participants out on the course (a limited number of GOTR branded signs will be available, so feel free to bring your own posters, cowbells and other noisemakers).
