The 2026 Cap2Cap ride is back for its 21st year!

 

Cap2Cap is the annual bike ride fundraiser for the Virginia Capital Trail Foundation.  Choose from four distances (100, 50, 25, or 7 miles) or register for the 2-Day or Virtual options.

Start and finish whenever and wherever you like on the Virginia Capital Trail.  Enjoy Party Zones at Chickahominy Riverfront Park on Friday and Dorey Park on Saturday.  

Riders will be supported by five Rest Stops over the 51.7 mile trail and will receive Cap2Cap swag, lunch, a beverage ticket, coupons, and more!

On the Capital Trail

 

The 2026 Cap2Cap ride will use an Open-Start format: you can start and finish anywhere on the Virginia Capital Trail!  Course support (Rest Stops and SAG) will be active between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM on the Trail on Cap2Cap weekend, Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th.

When planning your ride, consider the location and time of the Party Zone, which is the only place you will be able to redeem your lunch and drink ticket.

Two Party Zones!

Both Party Zones will feature Early Morning Packet Pickup for that day's riders, Music, Beverages, Vendors, and Lunch!

Your Ride Day Choice Determines Your Party Zone
Whichever Ride Day you select during registration, and only on that day, the tickets attached to your bib will be good for lunch and a beverage at the corresponding Party Zone site.

Virtual Cap2Cap Ride

Can't make it in-person on the event days? Register for the Virtual Ride and complete your distance on your own time.

During registration, Virtual riders will select a distance goal for their Cap2Cap ride and will be able to ride and
submit results between May 1st and May 31st.

While we recommend planning your ride on the Virginia Capital Trail, it is not required.

Virtual participants will receive the official Cap2Cap t-shirt, drawstring bag, and water bottle, shipped in early June,
along with any store purchases made in during registration.

Virtual participants also receive the discounts and coupons associated with the event.

Refunds

 

You can log into your RunSignUp account and transfer to another distance until April 17th at 11:59 PM.

Cap2Cap is rain or shine.  We do not allow refunds on this event.
In case of severe weather or a local/state/national emergency, VCTF reserves the right to cancel/alter/modify the ride for safety concerns.

Please note, we do not refund ride fees, transfer registration to another year, or transfer registration to other riders.
