Participant Guidelines & Safety
The following information is intended to help all participants have a safe, smooth, and enjoyable race experience. Please take a few minutes to review these guidelines before race day.
Course and Aid Stations
- Course distances:
- Aid station locations - water will be available at a station you will encounter at approximately:
- 1.55 miles (both 5K and 15K events)
- 4.66 miles (15K event only)
- 8.1 miles (15K event only)
- Water will also be available for 15K competitors at the completion of each 5K loop in Genoa Park
Aid stations are stocked with water. Additional nutrition or hydration should be carried by the participant if desired.
Strollers and Wheeled Devices
Participation with strollers is allowed. Participants using strollers should start at the back of the start corral and must remain aware of surrounding participants at all times. Participation in a racing wheelchair is allowed, please contact the race in advance to ensure that we're prepared!
Participation with bicycles, hoverboards, or any other wheeled device is strictly prohibited.
Participation with Pets and Animals
Due to the size and nature of this event, participation with pets is not allowed. Crowded start areas, course congestion, and event logistics create conditions that are not safe or comfortable for animals or participants.
Service animals assisting participants with disabilities are permitted in accordance with applicable laws.
Participant Safety Expectations
- Follow all posted signage and verbal instructions from race staff, volunteers, and public safety officials.
- Stay to the right side of the course unless passing.
- Headphones are permitted, but participants should remain alert to their surroundings at all times.
- Participants must obey traffic laws and course markings when the course is open to vehicles.
Any participant behaving in an unsafe or unsportsmanlike manner may be removed from the event.
Weather and Race Day Conditions
This event will take place rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, adjustments to the schedule, course, or operations may be made to prioritize participant safety.
