Description
Come join the Historical Days Hustle! This 5k run/walk is a family-friendly race for people of all ages and skill levels. Come walk, jog, or run through town with your fellow community members on the morning of Marshallville’s biggest event of the year!
The dynamic 3.1-mile race course starts by weaving through the streets of Marshallville, as it prepares for its largest event of the year. The course then meets the Heartland Trail and proceeds south, into the surrounding scenic farmland. After a U-turn, the course proceeds north on the rail-trail into the woods, and into the brand-new Bob Brooker Nature preserve. The course does a short loop on a gravel path in the woods, before heading back south to the finish line, back at the Heartland Trail trailhead!
Most importantly, proceeds for the event will go to the Rails to Trails of Wayne County, an organization that helps to develop the lovely walking and biking paths throughout our communities. Whether you are a seasoned runner, a cyclist trying something new, or a community member looking to help raise money for a good cause, we think this 5k would be a great fit for you!
Additionally, this fun run takes place on the morning of the Marshallville Historical Days festival. Check the Marshallville Historical Society Facebook page for details. In previous years, the event has included a parade, food trucks, craft and market vendor booths, tractor pulling, live music, and more. (This event is not directly affiliated with the Marshallville Historical Society)

Do I get a T-shirt? Yes, it is included in your registration fee! However, please sign up early to be guaranteed the size of your choosing.
Can my kids join? Yes, but they must be registered as well. Exceptions can be made for kids being carried or pushed in strollers, but we ask that kids be registered in the event if they will be on their own two feet.
I don't want to run or walk, but is there any way I can help? Yes, absolutely! We are looking for volunteers that will help the event go smoothly. Please see the volunteer page, or reach out to the race director.
Can I ride my bike? No, sorry. This is a running/walking event only. That said, we are looking for volunteers that can lead and trail the event on bicycle. Please see the volunteer page.
What surfaces does this race go on? The course is a mixture of asphalt, packed gravel, and a few wooden boardwalks. Please see the course map (coming soon).
