This is the April 20 trip that was postponed because of high water anticipated for that day

This is the trip that was originally scheduled for April 20, but was postponed because of anticipated high water.  If  you registered previously you do not have to re-register, but we would appreciate your sending a confirming email if you still plan on coming, so we will wait for you!

You can check your participation status on the "Find a Participant" tab on the trip website.

Important information about this online registration process

I am experimenting with a new event registration process through RunSignup, and this is my first trial use of their system to set up an event.  There are several potential advantages for KCCNY because of the flexibility built into the system, not least of which is the possibility of coordinating with the American Canoe Association in terms of event memberships and waivers, all of which should simplify the process of coordinating a trip.  The ACA has been very helpful in this regard, and this trial includes some duplication of the waiver process as part of the test, so it may look and seem confusing, but please bear with us.  This is very much a beta test.

To summarize, when you register you will have to agree to a waiver as part of the registration process.  That is built into the RunSignup system, but the actual form is the ACA waiver form.  In addition, I am asking you to also use the ACA online waiver procedure by clicking on the appropriate links below.  I know it should be redundant, but please do it anyway, so that I can continue to work with the ACA to streamline the process. (If all else fails, there are also links to download a paper waiver form.)

Thanks for your help,

Dan

Description

Paddle an easy Class I section of the Musconetcong River from Penwell Dam to Hampton Borough Park. Suitable for novices and advanced beginners.  Co-trip coordinators are Dan Kirsch and Fran Duggan.  There is no KCCNY fee for this event, but because this is an American Canoe Association sanctioned event all participants must be ACA members or pay a $5.00 event fee (plus online processing charge).

Place
We do not post the time or meeting place of trips on our website, because we want potential participants to contact the trip coordinator in advance and discuss their qualifications and abilities and preparedness for the conditions expected to be encountered. Participants are responsible for discussing the trip candidly with the trip coordinator or other experienced paddlers in order to make a determination as to whether the trip or event, at the expected water levels and weather conditions, is appropriate for them.
When you register we will send you an email with the time and place we will be meeting, and will let you know promptly if we have any questions about whether this trip is suitable for you. If you want to discus whether this trip is suitable before registering, use the contact link in the section below.
