A 3.2-mile kayak and paddleboard race through Bogue Sound and the Pine Knoll Shores canals begins Saturday, June 3rd, at 10 a.m. Proceeds support Hope For The Warriors, a 501(c)3 with a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator. Their mission is to restore wounded warriors sense of self, family, and hope. Nationally, Hope For The Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources. Registration Fees/Dates/Categories:
A $50 registration fee for a single kayak/paddle board and $100 for a tandem kayak includes a Warrior T-shirt and lunch for each paddler.
Awards/Categories:
There will be award categories for kayakers, tandem kayaks and paddle boarders. The WARRIORS RACE will be based on the registrant(s) who brings in the most donations in his or her or team name. We are asking each participant to create their own team of sponsors. Each racer is encouraged to raise at least $100 in additional donations from their sponsors. Sponsor dollars must be submitted 24 hours before the race including the electronic cut off if submitting online. Awards are for first, second and third place in the following age categories:
Elite Male/Female - 1, 2 and 3
15 and under Male/Female - 1, 2 and 3
Paddle Boarders Male/Female - 1, 2 and 3
Tandem - 1, 2 and 3
All Others Male/Female - 1, 2 and 3
Warrior Trophy - most money raised
Course:
3.2-mile paddle in Bogue Sound and in the canals of Pine Knoll Shores.
