🏁 RACE INFORMATION 🏁
🏊♂️ SWIM DETAILS 🏊
We will report the official water temp on Friday. So stay tuned to Facebook and your final athlete email. You will begin with a time trial start, quick few strokes out to the first green triangle buoy, make a right and then out parallel to the shore heading towards the boat launch. IF the temp stays below 65 wetsuits will be mandatory. This will be a time trial start for everyone, with the Olympic distance athletes first. Followed by the Sprint athletes, then Super. You will self seed with strong swimmers upfront.
Lifeguards will be positioned along the course. You may hold onto a waverunner or board. If you need assistance in the water raise your hand for a lifeguard. If you choose to be pulled, your race will be over at that point. You may be allowed to complete the event without a timing chip. All swimmers must be out of the water by 8:30 a.m. Any remaining swimmers will be pulled from the water.
****Swim, T-1 Gear Bag:
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE for YOUR BAG!! When you are exiting transition 1 you will drop your bag at the truck at the transition exit. We will then transport all gear bags to T-2. The support crew volunteers will be organizing those bags for your pickup post-race. You must show your race number to retrieve your bag.
We are not responsible for lost items, or items not put in a secured bag. Please make sure your bags are labeled with the numbered luggage tag provided to you in your athlete bag.
🚴 BIKE DETAILS 🚴
You will exit the transition area crossing the road at the cones and follow officials instructions. You will have a mount area to then merge into the bike lane just like merging on a highway. Any athlete caught outside the cones will result in an automatic disqualification. You must stay inside the coned bike course. This is on the INSIDE of the island, so faster athletes please stay along the cones. Slower athletes please stay next to the inside curb.
- Olympic Distance athletes will have 4 loops of the park
Sprint / Duathletes- 2 loops
Super Sprint - 1 loop - Swim exit down to T-2 does not count as a lap. You must make 4 complete laps for Olympic, 2 complete laps for Sprint, 1 for Super.
- Once you have completed your laps, you will use the ramp at T-2 to head into transition. SLOW DOWN and use caution when navigating the ramp!
No blocking, drafting, and remember centerline / cone crossing is a disqualification!
🏃 RUN DETAILS 🏃
The run will follow a fenced chute out of transition then on the path over the bridge, cross the road into the old grand prix pit area. This will take you down to the south end of the island. Back around and up the pit area. Aid station one is there, from that point you will cross another small bridge and head out to a few out and backs. Once you make your Left turn on Central it is a flat fast 500m to the finish. Olympic distance is 2 laps, so you will head past the finish and out for lap 2.
- Super sprint athletes will head across Central into the finish for a 1.2 mile run.
- DUATHLETES you will complete the sprint run for #2. Run #1 will start across the street from Transition 1 under the start flag. Then head back down to transition 2 for your run to bike transition. So again, your BIKE and RUN #2 gear should be left at Transition 2.
- Water and Gatorade Endurance Formula will be on course.
🏅 POST RACE 🏅
Following your finish, you will have fresh pancakes off the grill, and other amenities.
Results will be scored live, via the Athlinks app. QR codes will be posted at the event and linked in the next two (2) emails.
