Description
Trail clearing on the Norpine Ski Trail System in Lutsen, Minnesota is essential to ensure safe, accessible, and enjoyable skiing experiences for all. Regular maintenance removes fallen trees, overgrown brush, and other obstacles that can disrupt grooming and damage equipment. By volunteering your time, you’re not only helping to preserve this beloved trail network but also supporting local outdoor recreation and a vibrant winter community.
What can you expect:
- Like minded individuals dedicated to helping maintain spectacular Norpine Ski trails in Lutsen, MN.
- 1.5 days of trail clearing work which includes snipping branches, moving downed trees off the trail.
- Early November weather and a wilderness experience.
What is provided?
- Registered volunteers will receive TWO nights of lodging at local resorts/cabins (based on availability, some rooms/cabins may be shared)
- One trail captain per group led by the USFS or MN DNR to provide instruction and direction.
- Meal provided on the primary work day: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
- Tools are provided but we encourage bringing work gloves and eyewear protection of your preference.
The experience also includes a group meetup at dinner on Thursday night, making it a fun and rewarding way to give back, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, and enjoy time in the beautiful Northwoods.
