CAYUGA LAKE CROSSING (CLX 25) (Draft)

The Cayuga Outrigger Canoe Club is excited to host the fourth annual Cayuga Lake Crossing (CLX25). Launching from Taughannock Falls State Park, just north of Ithaca, New York, CLX 2025 will be two days of paddling fun and racing on Cayuga Lake, one of New York State's Finger Lakes.

Schedule 

Friday, August 15, 2025:

     Registration at Personal Best Brewing in Ithaca, NY. (Tap room, Cuban food truck, shuffleboard. Outside food is welcome)

Saturday, August 16, 2025: 

     OC6 (six-person outrigger canoe) races: Women's (12 mile), Open (12 mile), Mixed (9 mile).

Sunday, August 17, 2025: 

     Small Craft Sunday!

     A 9 mile race for: one-person and two-person outrigger canoes (OC1 and OC2), surf skis, stand up paddleboards, and kayaks.

All races are part of the 2025 ECORA (East Coast Outrigger Racing Association) Point Series. ECORA clubs and their members earn PS points for their results. This year, the course has been designed so that non-racers can see more of course from the park. We will also have other activities during day on Saturday to add to the festivities! Breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday are included in the registration fee. We also host a luau on Saturday night for all participants (tickets purchased separately).

Race fees

Race fees are on a sliding scale depending on sign up date. Registration Opens on June 9th and closes on August 14th.

• June 9 - June 30, 2025: $70 per paddler ($140 for OC2 and $420 for OC6)
• July 1 - July 31, 2025: $75 per paddler ($150 for OC2 and $450 for OC6)
• August 1 - August 14, 2025: $80 per paddler ($160 for OC2 and $480 for OC6)

Team registration(s)

To register a team, please have the captain register first for any of the OC6 or OC2 events. After signing your waiver, select "Create a New Team" and enter the team name and password, and complete the registration process – which includes the race fee payment for the team. Other team members may then register for themselves, selecting "Join A Team" and their respective team, entering the team password. Captains will have team management access, allowing them to send invites to, add, or remove members. For additional information, please see the Register page on our website. Canoe rental(s)

A $150 for spec canoes and $200 for unlimited canoes trailering fee is to be paid by the team using another club’s canoe. Canoe availability is strictly on a first come, first served basis. Please contact registration@cayugalakecrossing.com to request canoes or if you know you are trailering canoes and might have extra canoes for other teams to use with a trailer use fee. All canoe rentals must go through the CLX 25 Race Committee so they can track canoes and canoe availability. Teams can not arrange their own rental canoes. Please reach out to the us if you need to rent a canoe or have canoes to rent.
