THE CNY TRIATHLON CLUB PRESENTS
The 2025 Caz Triathlon
August 17th, 2025
The CNY Triathlon Club was formed in January 2000 to serve triathletes and other multisport enthusiasts of all abilities by providing support, education, group workouts, and events to encourage and promote triathlon as a sport that is part of a healthy lifestyle.
We have had kid's tri training in the past and are continuing with a kid's tri program. Parents are welcome to be involved and help run the kid's training. In the last two years we have been providing more support for high schoolers by adding a high School Sprint Wave at the Caz Tri. The sponsor, CNY Triathlon Club also can provide clothing, bikes and equipment for high schoolers. Girls have a special advantage as 40 universities and colleges now have NCAA Women's Triathlon teams and offer scholarships for female triathletes!
Donate: There is a high school triathlete program donation button where all donations will be directed toward high schools triathletes for nutrition and wellness training,, swim lessons, group training, equipment and more.
Most of that funding for these programs comes directly from individuals who have registered for the Cazenovia Triathlon! Cazenovia Tri is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the CNY Triathlon Club.
Course Descriptions
Swim Course
The swim course will be 750m for the sprint and 1500m for the intermediate events. The start will be at the boat dock, proceed in a clockwise direction and return to the dock. Sprinters will do one loop and intermediates will swim two loops.
In case of windy weather, an alternate course may be set up closer to shore to help protect against swimming in rough, wavy conditions.
Bike Course
Cyclists will walk/run (no mounting) their bike to the east end of the transition, follow the chute up the gentle slope to Forman St. Mount the bike only after passing the mount line. Move to the extreme left or right to make room for riders directly behind you to avoiding wheel contact/falls. Race personnel will be there to provide guidance and assistance if needed.
Upon returning slow down and dismount before the dismount line, beyond the dismount line is not allowed. Walk or run your bike on the grassy slope (be cautious if wet or muddy) to the furthest west end of the transition area. Enter the transition and rack your bike in the original location and direction.
Run Course
The run course leaves the transition, proceeds up the access road hill, right on to Foreman St., left on Emory St. just after Cazenovia High School, then left onto Ridge road.
Proceed to either the 5K or 10 K turnaround depending on your event. The athlete is responsible to know the marked location of her/his proper turn.
After your turnaround proceed back to the park via the same route. Once inside the park proceed down the access/boat launch road, turn right near the pavilion into the finish line chute
