Description
Piney Woods Conservation Group and Pinebelt Blueways, in partnership with our friends at Seven Rivers Canoe Club, are hosting the first group paddle of 2025 this Saturday, April 5th at 2 p.m.! We're prepping for our first-ever Moonlight Paddle on the evening of Saturday, April 12th, so this is a recon paddle and (light) litter cleanup to remove any litter on the rockbar where we'll hangout for a campfire and s'mores.
Join us for a leisurely paddle on the Lower Bouie River - a logistically simple out-and-back from the Hwy. 11 Boat Ramp to the Glendale Avenue Boat Ramp for an approximately 4-mile roundtrip paddle in the lakes just north of the confluence of the Bouie and Leaf Rivers! We'll make a pit stop to remove litter from the rockbar hangout, then continue the paddle. With low river flow and still waters, it's a relaxing and safe float for paddlers of all experience levels.
This is a BYOC/K (bring your own canoe/kayak) event, but we'll have the Pinebelt Blueways fleet there for anyone who wants to join and doesn't have a boat. First-come, first-serve, so register in advance and claim your watercraft! We'll provide buckets, grabbers and bags for the cleanup, and we'll be sorting recycling to divert as much trash from the landfill as possible!
See you out there:
