Growth & Community Impact
The Holland Haven Marathon, established in 2014, has experienced significant growth, starting with around 400 runners and reaching over 1,200 in 2019, contributing nearly $500,000 to the local economy that year. Despite the challenges posed by the 2020 pandemic, our event adapted by limiting participation to 700 runners while ensuring safety through collaboration with health authorities.
The race regained momentum in 2021 and 2022 by being recognized as a Road Runners Club of America Championship event.
Celebrating our 10th anniversary in 2023, we sold out all races, and partnered with the Tulip Time Run to bring the Double Dutch Challenge medal to runners.
Holland Haven Marathon continues to provide an excellent experience for participants year over year.
The event has a positive impact on the local community by sending kids to summer camp, offering free race entries to veterans, raising funds for shelter animals, and supporting local kids’ programs.
Creating beautiful memories for runners to celebrate with our entire Holland community.
