What is the Superhero 3K Fun Run?
Superhero Fun Run is an untimed 3K run/walk open to all abilities and experience, from the avid runner to families. Participants can run or walk the route and are encouraged to represent their favorite superhero. The race starts at 8:30A at the Sensory Garden Playground (2751 International Dr., Lisle, IL 60532).
Where is the Superhero Fun Run?
The 3K race route will take place at the Sensory Garden Playground (2751 International Dr., Lisle, IL 60532). Participants will park in the Science of Spirituality parking lot (4105 Naperville Rd, Lisle, IL 60532) and line up at the race start. The race will run through Danada Forest Preserve and the finish line will be at the Sensory Garden Playground. Please note: Part of the course will be on paved streets and part of the course will be on crushed limestone/unpaved trails throughout Danada Forest Preserve.
Where is parking located?
Participant parking will be in the Science of Spirituality Parking Lot (4105 Naperville Rd, Lisle IL 60532). From Naperville Rd, turn east onto International Dr. Then turn right into the designated area.
Who needs to register?
As space in Superhero Fun Run is limited, all participants (of any age) must register, including children in strollers.
Who does this race benefit?
The Wheaton Park District is hosting the Superhero Fun Run to benefit the Play for All Playground & Garden Foundation. A portion of the event proceeds will go towards creating inclusive play for children of all abilities at the Sensory Garden Playground in Lisle, IL.
Are there any Race Bundles?
Yes, race bundle is available through June 5. Challenge yourself to run throughout 2026! Start off with the Superhero Fun Run in April, tackle the Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals in June, and finish strong with the festive Reindeer Run in December.
Get a FANTASTIC FOUR Discount!
Teams of 4 or more (adult only registration) will receive a $4.00 off discount per registrant. In order to receive the discount, a team must be created and entered when registering. Team members do not have to register at the same time. After the 4th person registers, the other 3 team members will receive a $4.00 refund.
What should I wear?
Anything to represent your favorite superhero! Whether it is a Spiderman suit, a DC or Marvel t-shirt, a Wonder Woman tiara, or Captain America's shield, we welcome participation at any level.
When is Packet Pickup?
Packet pickup will be held at the Ray Morrill Community Center (1777 S Blanchard St., Wheaton) from 12 - 7P on Thursday, April 16. Packets can also be picked up on race morning at the Sensory Garden Playground (2751 International Dr., Lisle, IL 60532) from 7:30-8:15A.
Are strollers/wheelchairs allowed?
Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed but will be asked to line up in the last wave of the race start. Participant safety is of the utmost importance, therefore, bicycles, in-line skates, and other wheeled vehicles (except wheelchairs) are not allowed. Any person riding in a stroller must remain in the stroller for the duration of the race. Please note: part of the course will be on paved streets and part of the course will be on crushed limestone/unpaved trails throughout Danada Forest Preserve.
Can my pet participate?
Pets are NOT permitted in this race. This is for the safety of your pet. Service animals must be approved by the race director ONE WEEK before race day.

VIRTUAL RACE FAQ
What is a virtual race? Is there a virtual race course?
A virtual race can be completed by participants on their favorite outdoor run/walk route or on a treadmill. There is no official race route or start time.
Will virtual runners be allowed to participate in the in-person race?
No. If you would like to transfer to in-person, please email the Race Director at events@wheatonparks.org.
Can I pick up my giveaway at packet pick-up?
Yes! Virtual runners are encouraged to pick up their giveaway at packet pick-up. Packet pick-up will be Thursday, April 16 between 12 - 7P at the Ray Morrill Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard St.). If you cannot make the pre-race packet pick-up, racers may pick up their packets on Saturday, April 18 from 7:30 - 8:15A at the Sensory Garden Playground.
