Walk for Dyslexia 2024

Donation Goal: $8,000

Nearly 1 in 5 children in the United States are living with dyslexia. Left untreated, dyslexia can be devastating—leading to academic problems, anxiety, depression and even delinquent behavior. While dyslexia cannot be cured, it can be overcome. At CDC-M, we empower children with dyslexia to reach their potential by providing them with specialized tutoring services. Because we believe all children deserve the opportunity to learn in a way that meets their needs and enables them to succeed, regardless of their family income level, we provide our tutoring services free of charge. Ours is the only program in the community that does this. And results show that our approach works: within two years, 95% of children in our program are reading and writing on grade level.
