2024 Cobbler Track and Field

Donation Goal: $21,000

From Coach Moriarty:

I wanted to take a moment to explain our fundraiser to each of you. Fundraising is not something that I look forward to and I’ve tried to find a way to raise funds that don’t involve us having to sell a product that a lot of people don’t want or need.  Having said that, the online option isn’t always the easiest for everyone. There are also fees that come with it because we have to use an outside source to collect funds. However, I feel this is the way that fits for the majority of our team. You are able to write a check, please make it out to “RCC Track”.  We prefer checks over cash so the person donating knows that we have received the donation.

The fundraiser has nothing to do with who’s on varsity or what meets athletes are going to.  Performances earn athletes varsity spots.  This season I’m hoping that each athlete will be able to raise at least $60.  Once an athlete reaches this goal they will be given the two team shirts (long sleeve/short sleeve) so please let us know who you are donating to. Additionally any athlete that raises $100 will receive a hoodie with our team logo on it.

Lastly I wanted to explain why we fundraise, unfortunately we don’t have funding for everything that we need. There are things that we can get through the school and whenever possible I try to use this method.  Below is a list of what the money is used for.

1. Food - by far our biggest expense.  We try to cover as many meals as possible for the athletes at track meets.
Track socials. We try throughout the season to get together as a group.  Many days we are spread out during practice/meets so we try to have time together as an entire team. We truly do see track as a team sport.

2. Snacks - Most track meets we ask athletes to pack a lunch.  Because meets are long, we also try to provide snacks for the athletes - small healthy items to help them prepare for their events.

3. Awards - At the end of the season we get together and have our awards ceremony. We want to honor those athletes who have helped our team through their efforts.

4. Team Shirts - Purchasing 200 or more shirts is expensive.  We want our athletes to have gear and represent our school and community.

As always please feel free to visit with me about questions you have.  I always want to be working towards improving our program and helping our athletes anyway possible.

For "Athlete I would like to donate to..." please click "Other" and then type the name of the athlete you want to support so they can earn their free shirts.
