In 2023, Deputy Andy Lahera was hit by a car and nearly killed while on duty.

Lahera was working a high school graduation when he was hit by a car, suffering a traumatic brain injury among numerous other severe injuries.

He spent months in the hospital, before moving to rehabilitation facilities. He is still in rehabilitation, where he continues to fight every day. 

Though Andy has not yet returned home, his strength and resilience continue to shine through as he makes steady progress in his recovery. Each day is a step forward, and we remain hopeful for the day he can come home to his family and the community that stands behind him.

Andy’s CCSO family stands beside his wife, Michelle, their sons Vincent and Nicholas, and all who love him. They remain in our thoughts and prayers - now and always.
