What is included in my registration?
In addition to your patriotic technical race t-shirt, you’ll receive 5 CambridgeSide Garage parking passes, a race bib with a timing chip, an invitation to the post-race party and three beverage tickets!

How do I get my bib and swag?
You must attend packet pickup during the listed timeframes. Specific location inside CambridgeSide TBD.
       Friday 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
       Saturday 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM
       Race morning starting at 8:00 AM

Can you mail my race swag?
Race swag will not be mailed post-race. All race items must be picked up during bib pick up hours before the race.

Do you allow refunds?
You can clear the transaction using the button on your confirmation page within 15 minutes of registering. After that 15 minute grace period, all entries are final. There will be no refunds or deferrals.

Is the Freedom Run 5K open to all ages?
Yes! We have no age restriction on registration. If your young ones are comfortable with the 3.1 miles, sign them up to run along with you!

How do I know if I am registered?
After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email from RunSignUp.com. You can also search for your registration on our Find A Participant page.

Can I transfer my race number to another person?
Yes! You can transfer your bib to another person up until packet pick up hours are over. The person you are transferring the bib to will only have to pay a small $20 transfer fee. Find out how here.

Can I run with my dog?
For the safety of all runners, we do not allow animals on the racecourse (however they are welcome at the party! woof!!).

Can I run with a jogger/stroller?
Strollers are discouraged. In the interest of safety for all participants, including your child, you will be asked to line up at the back.

Are headphones permitted?
You may wear headphones. We ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants.

Can someone pick up my bib for me?
Yes. They must know your bib number and have a picture of your photo ID.

Is there a course time limit?
Yes. Our time limits are set to ensure runners are protected from traffic and have the support they need to finish. The 5k has a one-hour time limit. Runners of all abilities are invited to participate, provided they can finish the course within the timeframe.

What is included in the after party?
Details are still being worked out but there will be plenty of snacks and drinks for everyone. Three tear-off beer tickets will be included on your bib if you are over 21. And there will be music! The party is on the roof deck of Cambridgeside. Guest tickets for the party are $30 and will be sold on our registration site as we get closer to the event and during packet pick up hours. Make sure you are following us on social media to keep up to date on all the details.

Is there a bag check?
There is an unofficial bag check in the Food Court area of CambridgeSide. You can drop your bag in the roped off area before you exit to the start line. The area will be monitored but not secure. Do not leave valuables behind. All bags are subject to search by the City of Cambridge Police. Please remember to pick up your bag immediately after you finish running so our volunteers can enjoy the festivities!

What is your bad weather policy?
It is our goal to ensure a safe event for all involved. We will not expose participants or the community to undue risk as a result of staging the event. The Freedom Run 5K will take place rain or shine. However, when weather or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, we maintain the right to cancel the race. Less threatening conditions could result in an alteration of the course or race length to ensure safety for all.

Is the race timed?
The Freedom Run 5K is timed utilizing Mylaps BibTag technology. Timing chips are on the back of the race numbers. You will get them at packet pick up. Results will be calculated based on net-time.

Can I create or join a team after I have registered?
You can create or join a team until the team deadline on June 2nd at midnight. Here are the steps you can follow to make the change.

Is the race accessible by public transportation?
Yes, take the MBTA Green Line E to Lechmere Station.

How do I volunteer?
Volunteer registration will open in May - please check back!

Where should I park on race day?
There is plenty of free parking (use one of your parking passes) at the CambridgeSide garage.

Is the course USATF certified?
Yes, the 5K course is certified. Effective 8/28/2013-12/31/2023 USATF Certification #MA13901JK

Will there be a water stop?
Yes! There will be a water stop near mile 1 1/2 and at the finish line.
