Join us for a powerful 5K Run/Walk to break the silence and raise awareness about the stigma surrounding substance use. Hosted by For Cameron, Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to making a difference in CT. For Cameron works towards helping those who still have a chance. Through law reform, education, and public health initiatives, we aim to bring attention to the Fentanyl crisis and reduce the stigma associated with addiction. What is the distance?
- A 5K is 3.1 miles.
Where do I park?
- We ask that you go to 2623 Dixwell Ave (Hamden Middle School) and follow the arrows!
Is there a water stop?
- There will be a water stop halfway through the 5k, and water bottles at the end of the race.
Where do I pick up my bib number?
- Look for the sign-in table!
When does bib pick-up end on race day?
- Pick-up will end at 10 AM on race day (4/14/2023)
Where/ how do I attach my bib number?
- All bib numbers are attached to the front of your shirt or shorts, pins are provided.
Are pets allowed?
- Furry family members are allowed at our 5K run/walks as long as they are leash-trained and do well in crowds. We also ask that pet parents take care of pet duties responsibly.
What is the last day I can register?
- Online registration will close the evening before the 5K run/walk (4/13/2023 at 11:59 PM). Same-day registration will be open IN PERSON until 10 AM (4/14/2023).
Will the event be canceled if it is raining?
- Our event will be taking place rain OR shine!
Will there be a shortcut for those who don’t want to / aren’t able to complete the 5K?
- We understand there will be times when crossing the finish line may not happen. You can turn around whenever just let volunteers know so we can mark your bib for timing purposes.
