Grab your boards and hang on for 14 miles of downwind excitement! You'll start at Davenport Landing and paddle all the way to Main Beach in Santa Cruz. Open to multiple categories of standup, prone, open canoe and surf skis.
Race Day Time Line:
START: Start is at Davenport Landing Beach (Davenport Landing Road) a few miles north of the town of Davenport.
FINISH: On Main Beach at the base of the Santa Cruz Wharf. You will make a left shoulder turn around a buoy just outside the tip of the wharf on the south side. Paddling parallel to the wharf you will exit the water and run through the finish line, just past the high tide line, directly in front of Ideal Bar & Grill.
Logistics: There is no shuttle service. You will need to coordinate your own transportation. Please bring your own hydration. There may or may not be water at the race start.
Parking at Start: Generally parking is not a problem, free. We do recommend carpooling to accommodate all other beach visitors and surrounding homes.
Parking at Finish: Parking is available on the Santa Cruz wharf for a daily fee of approximately $25. Please verify for yourself. There is also paid parking available at Cowells Beach Surfshop, meter parking on streets surrounding finish line and free parking a few blocks off West Cliff drive.
About the GRWC: The GhostRyder Watermen Club is a California non-profit, public benefit corporation. The clubs focus is benefiting the Santa Cruz Junior Lifeguard program. The GhostRyder Watermen Club does not pay any salary to its board of directors or any other staff. A volunteer staff/group conducts all activities. Events are funded by entry fees received and corporate sponsors.
