Description

All profit from this event go to fund the Sierra Vista Scenic Byway Association, so it only makes sense that the featured routes of the event spotlight the Scenic Byway. Weather you’re riding the new Gravel routes we added a few year ago, or the classic traditional paved routes of the Century & Metric Road rides, you’ll be experience the beauty, tranquility & adventure of the Sierra National Forest. Obviously the dirt sections of the gravel routes see almost zero vehicles, but the paved route also see very few cars! So wheather you choose the grueling Century with it 10,000’ of elevation gain & the “Alpe de Griz” climb up to Beasore Meadows, or you choose the Gravel Route  it’s 60+ miles 6,000’ of gain up Central Camp Rd through the lush forest, which also climbs to Beasore, you’ll no doubt be treated to expansive views of lakes, numerous granite domes, & many lush meadows. If you want your day to be a bit easier, the paved road riders can do the Metric Century, which climbs the same road as the regular century, but is simply an OAB ti Shuteye Trail at about 30+ miles from the start (or turn around anywhere you like if your pooped!) Gravel riders opting for an easier day can follow the main Gravel ride up Central Camp Rd, do a “lollipop loop” merging back onto Central Camp & descend back down to Bass Lake. Or if you're interested in a much easier ride try the 25 mile Loop the Lake ride. There's a challenging ride for everyone! 4 of the 5 routes go right past the iconic Bass Lake Millers Landing. There you’re free to stop in for a free beer then the short pedal back into North Fork where you’ll be treated to an include free Post Ride meal & another free beer, yippee!  Although we can’t guarantee great weather, the Weatherman rarley dissapoints on that first Saturday in October! Come on out, let’s play bikes, meet some new friends, & enjoy our beautiful forest. (This ride is by permit of the USFS).
