Run up a Thanksgiving appetite at this year’s Anaheim Santa Ana River Trail Turkey Trot 5K/10K!  CAREN WARE EVENTS provide the Ultimate BLING and The Best theme to motivate your holiday to be HEALTHY and ACTIVE! Action packed event as you squeeze onto the paved path and enjoy passing the iconic A at Angel Stadium.  The event takes place just north of Katella & S Douglas Road on the Santa Ana River Trail at the Artic Anaheim Regional Transport Intermodal  Center between Angel Stadium and the Honda Center.

Each participant will receive: 

• Get the BEST THEMED collectable  turkey shirt/beanie/or cute stuffed event Turkey.
• CUSTOM cast TURKEY FINISHER MEDALs and a matching race bib for ALL. **This year's race medal.  The Turkey wings fly!
• CHIP TIMED by ITZABOUTTIME. Age division awards. 3 deep per 5 year age span.  Check the results. If you got 1, 2, or 3 next to your age division, you placed.
• A fresh slice of tasty pumpkin pie with whipped cream!
• A good time.  Fun camaraderie.

Race & Course Details:
To accommodate this size event on the paved River Trail 
Rolling Start  7:55am to 8:10am for 5k/10k  Once you go under the arch your course time starts.  ALL PARTICIPANTS  must start by 8:10am. 
                      8:11 am for the 1 mile start. 
                      9:00am 5k Awards Ceremony   9:30am 10K awards ceremony
All 5k/10k Must cross the start mats by 8:10 am.  Elite and fast runners plan to go off in the first wave at 7:55am. 
To get to your age division awards and the award's stand, you must go to the Northern End of the long RIVER TRAIL EXPO area (nearest Katella) and look for the awards stands and selfie booth next to the sound booth.   9am starts the 5k awards with the top overall and age divisions.  9:30 am starts the 10K overall awards and the age divisions.

Race Day Schedule:

6:30am   to 8am  - Registration opens (Walk up LATE Registration available on race day , plus PRE REG BIB & Shirt Pick Up.) 

A "COOL" warm up begins at 7:50am! Course time starts when you step  under the START ARCH  and on the start mats.  Wear Bib on Front.  Enjoy this FUN FESTIVE TURKEY TROT STREET CORNER RACE!  Meet people.  Feel the sense of community. 

7:55am to 8:05.  ROLLING START.   Start of the 5k/10k & 1 Mile Fun Run can take place during this time.  MAKE SURE you have the PROPER BIB on for your race distance or you will be incorrectly scored and dequeued. Wear that bib pinned to the front and visible. 

COURSE:
You will be running on the SANTA ANA RIVER BED TRAIL.  It is a picturesque, newly landscaped paved path and you will have views of the  BIG A  at Angeles Stadium as you run by. You will be sharing the path with cyclist, other runners, and dog walkers.  This is a public pathway that you are 'exercising" your right to run on.  We will time you at the start and  finish spot off of Katella. You are responsible for your use of the public path. Stay to the right coming and going on the course. Proceed out on the pavement and return on the hard pack dirt side of the Riverbed Trail. 

Remember to WRITE on your race BIB what you are THANKFUL for! And , don't forget to have fun!

EARLY PRE Packet Pick Up is at a  NEW LOCATION: Saturday, Nov. 22 from 2 pm to 4pm.  POLLO CAMPERO 12542 W CHAPMAN AVE, Garden Grove, Ca. 92840 ( just 10 minutes from the race location.)  We are excited for their fun campaign to get you to buy chicken instead of turkey. And their promise that this is a tasty meal with authentic recipes from their origin in Guatemala. You may pick up for others. No id required.  

RACE DAY PACKET PICK UP also AVAILABLE:  Shirts and bibs available at registration booth on ramp to START/FINISH race morning.

Race day Registration begins at 6:30am . Walk up registration welcome.

The Course:
The COURSE is on Anaheim Santa River  paved, multi-purpose path. Start /Finish just south of Katella across from the Honda Center East of the Transit Center on the Santa Ana River trail. ALLOW TIME to walk from parking lots. You are RUNNING the PUBLIC PATH COURSE on SANTA ANA RIVERBED TRAIL beginning off of KATELLA. You are sharing the route with open public, cyclists, runners, and walkers,  and pets. You are responsible for giving cyclists the right away.


Parking Details:  Parking for the event is $10. 
PLAN to walk from Angel Stadium's back lot where you park , all the way to the SANTA ANA RIVER TRAIL or drop off people on S. Douglas Way at the transit center and have someone park the car!  READ BELOW on parking.

Limited PARKING is available at the lot adjacent to Transit Center.   It will fill up fast.   Enter into the front parking off of Katella and  the gate arm raises. Or off of Douglas Way.  (NOTE: JT SCHMIDT Brewery was demolished to allow NEW CONSTRUCTION .  We use the address to give you a location, but no restaurant building is still there.   Turn right on Douglas  Way off of Katella to park at the Angel Stadium Lot or into the transit Center. THE  DESIGNATED EVENT PARKING is at Angel Stadium's back lot adjacent to the transit center. Enter under the pass and to the back gate off of Douglas Way. 

You will Need proof of an event parking pass. Purchase one or have a photo copy..  Most of the race participants will need to park in the Angel Stadium lot secured just for this event.. ANGEL's STADIUM BACKLOT PARKING will be FASTER and EASIER access.    Enter in on DOUGLAS WAY off of KATELLA and proceed under the freeway pass to the back gate of Angel Stadium. Enter Angel's Stadium behind the Transit Center.  

You can :  Purchase the pass at packet pick up. or pay  online by clicking add on to our runsignup entry, or zelle carenfasttrack@aol.com  or venmo:  caren-Ware-1 to pay the race direct.  Parking pass proof will be emailed on Friday, Nov. 21.  If you have not pre purchased a pass, you can pay our race parking attendance $10 cash when you enter the gate.

There is access entrances to the SANTA ANA RIVER TRAIL path at LOT B of the transit center. Park, then walk  or jog down to the race start in front of the transit center.  You can drop off and then park .     You will need proof of an event parking pass. Info will be emailed. Take a picture of it. 

RESTROOMS:  The Transit Center has public restrooms both downstairs and upstairs. Participants are encouraged to check out how nice the transit center is.  And Metro link is encouraging you to enjoy a ride . Limited Porta-potties will be at the registration/ start area.  And two porta- potties will be about the one mile mark on the course for participants coming and returning on the course.  
 
Awards:
Age DIVISION AWARDS:  1-7, 8-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-59, 80-84, 85 plus.  WOW, that is a lot of awards!  And just running up an appetite wins!  Top male and female 1-10, 11-17 in the 1 mile.

Go to the FINISH LINE food area and the awards tent and retrieve your award!!!  Top 3 overall trophies.  Male/female also.
