Cross for LifeFlight

Welcome to the Grateful Patient Team fundraising page!

LifeFlight of Maine is a nonprofit organization and the state’s only emergency medical helicopter service. Since 1998, LifeFlight has touched the lives of more than 40,000 critically ill and injured people from nearly every community in Maine. With three helicopters, an airplane and ground ambulances, LifeFlight brings ICU-level care directly to the patient. Last year, LifeFlight cared for more than 2,300 patients. People who live in Maine and people who visitMaine depend on LifeFlight to be there for them. 

Each of us on the Grateful Patient Team has a connection to LifeFlight, either as a patient or as a close family member of a patient. Though our LifeFlight stories are different, our gratitude binds us together. For those of us who were transported by LifeFlight, we did not wake up the morning of our flight expecting to need their services. And yet they were there for us when we needed them the most. They showed up. They showed up with compassion and kindness. They provided us with critical care that we never in our wildest dreams imagined we would ever need. Our gratitude to LifeFlight never goes away.

Between August 1 and August 31, we each will be doing our own Crossings, but we are in solidarity supporting LifeFlight. We participate in the Cross for LifeFlight for various and personal reasons, but we are in agreement that this much needed service must continue to be available to all people of Maine. Please consider making a donation of any size to help LifeFlight continue their courageous and noble work into the future. As a nonprofit, LifeFlight relies on the generosity of donors and you never know when you or a family member might need them.
