September 7, 2024, my wife and I went to the Richmond SPCA in hopes of adding a four legged friend to our family. The pup we originally went to see ended up not being a good match for our family but then the adoption coordinator introduced us to Maedie. Maedie, Mae Mae as we lovingly called her, was an older pup who just had one of her back legs amputated and was patiently waiting for her furever family. We instantly fell in love and brought her home.
We didn't get to spend a very long time with Mae Mae before she crossed the rainbow bridge, but every day with her was a gift. Mae Mae completed our family and filled out hearts and home with love. Her cat siblings immediately adored her and she loved them.
I'm participating in Richmond SPCA's 24th Annual Dog Jog, 5K and Block Party to raise funds for homeless and needy pets like my Mae Mae once was. I'm running in her honor and I hope that you will considering donating to help achieve my fundraising goal.
Your contribution will be put to work to help the Richmond SPCA provide lifesaving care and services to the people and pets in our community, and will help save the lives of more than 4,000 homeless animals this year!
