Our cleft journey began in 2018, just five days after Branson was born! It was then that a lactation consultant discovered his hidden superpower (cleft palate). The Kaiser Craniofacial Team began their immediate support and helped us navigate the cleft world with our newborn. Fast-forward a couple years amidst COVID shutdowns and regulations, Branson was finally able to have his Cleft Repair surgery. He was in the best possible hands and we cannot thank Dr.Rubinstein and his team enough for taking such great care of our boy! With follow ups, clinics, and just one tube replacement procedure, Branson is thriving, developing, and growing into such an amazing young man! Now that he is 6 years old, we are having different kinds of fun navigating the joys of having a school age child. He is and always has been so resilient and strong and we are blessed to be his parents! We are cleft strong and proud to be!
The Chocolate Chase 5K is a new event that will be held in Sacramento, on Sunday May 18, 2025, to raise awareness and celebrate people and families living with a craniofacial difference.
