Run 4 Our Furry Friends 5K Run and 2K Honor Walk is to help raise funds for Peace River K9 Search & Rescue. PRK9SAR is an all volunteer Florida Non Profit Corporation with a Federal tax exemption 501(c)(3). To commemorate National Dog Day, we are celebrating PRK9SAR by giving 100% of race donations and a portion of proceeds to this amazing organization.
PRK9SAR mission is to assist local, state, military, federal, private agencies and families as a force multiplier in the recovery of lost, missing and abducted persons in urban, wilderness, natural and man-made disasters while proactively educating response agencies and the community on volunteer Search & Rescue. Peace River K9 Search & Rescue strives to be a leader and preferred service provider to Law Enforcement, Emergency Management and its community.
Location: South County Regional Park, 670 Cooper St, Punta Gorda. Run consists of running the path around the park, past the ponds and sports fields. Some of the run takes place on Education Way. Course(s) will be clearly marked. Strollers are welcome.
Start Time: 2K Walk - 7:30 a.m., 5K Run - 7:35 a.m.
Bibs: Only 5K race participants will be assigned a bib.
5K Awards Ceremony: Awards will be presented immediately following the race to the male and female finishers in the following categories: Overall, Masters (40+), Grand Masters (50+), Senior Grand Master (60+), Veterans (70+), Overall Youth (14yr & under).
Age Group Awards: Top three male and female finishers in the following groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
Dog: Award for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place dog. All dogs must be leashed and start at the back of the start line. South County is a dog friendly park, doggie bag stations are located throughout the course. Please pickup after your pet.
Refreshments/Snacks: Pizza, cookies, beer, water, ice pops
First Aid Support provided by Peace River K9 Search and Rescue.
Discount for 5K Only
Runsignup Clubs: Gulf Coast Runners, Ft Myers Track Club, Manasota Track Club, Sarasota Storm and Zoomers active membership holders receive an automatic $5.00 race discount.
Non-Runsignup Clubs: North Port Runners, Cape Coral Running Group, CrossFit Warpath, First Responders, Military, Speedsters members will receive a $5.00 race discount. Email info@beachbumtiming.com for the discount code.
Student Discount: Students 18yrs and younger race entry is only $15.00.
Only one discount can be used.

Packet Pickup Schedule:
8/24/23 - 3-7 p.m., Luigi's Pizzeria & Family Restaurant, 3883 Tamiami Trail, Port Charlotte, FL 33952
8/25/23 - 3-7 p.m., South County Regional Park, baseball field pavilion.
8/26/23 - 6:15-7:15 a.m., South County Regional Park parking lot in front of the baseball field pavilion. This is for packet pickup only.
THERE IS NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.
PARKING: Race day parking is in the parking lot in front of the baseball fields where the start/finish line is located.
