Paddlesplash is a 3-day event held on Lake Natoma in Folsom, CA, located in Sacramento County. All levels of paddlers are welcome.
With multiple distances to choose from ( including our most popular: 2, 5 and 8 mile) there is a race for everyone! We also offer a "first timer" race, a Grom (kids) short course race, yoga on the water, board demos and paddle clinics. Racers in the 2, 5. 8 mile and Spectators can enjoy the action on the sandy beach. A fun weekend on the water for the entire family. We will have a beach/water clean up on Sunday at noon to close our festival.
Lake Natoma is one of the most beautiful lakes in Northern California and a paddlers paradise! The entire lake is a 5MPH zone, there is no current and both sides of the lake are protected from wind. These water conditions are perfect for the Elite paddler to see how fast they really can go and the beginner paddlers can try out racing in "glass" conditions.
PFD and leashes required.
State Parks parking fee required at toll booth. Parking fills up early - arrive early for a space.
The Lake Natoma Inn is our host hotel, you can launch your vessel from the parking lot and paddle to Folsom Prison!

Paddle Stroke Board Handling and Clinics: 9am and 4;30pm
90 minutes $95.00
The goal of this class is to increase your efficiency, power and ease SUPing whether you are racing, SUP surfing, recreating or all of it.
Paddle stroke is much more than just the placement of your paddle in the water. How your body alignment in balance with your paddle and board are key to being able to handle many different conditions. There are subtle and not so subtile actions we can do with our bodies to create power, speed and efficiency which I will share.
This clinic will cover body mechanics, paddle stroke break down and board handling.
There will be a short piece on fueling for training, racing and life.
Everything I teach I have experimented on myself with first. I can say I have never been injured during the 6 to 7 years I raced very heavily and the total of 14 years paddling consistently in the Bay area and beyond.
My passion is to share this information with you so that you can keep paddling and be an all-round active healthy human. Wellness is everything!
This clinic is excellent for upper beginner, intermediate and advanced paddle levels.
My approach in my own training as well as coaching others is to achieve excellence while keeping you injury free.
Buoy Turn and Race Starts August 4th 11:30 am - 1pm
This is an excellent class to follow a stroke Clinic class.
90 Minutes $95.00
The goal of this class is to move more evenly left to right while turning as well as practicing different types of race starts.
New or not so new to racing there are always things we can learn about buoy turns (pivot turns) and race starts.
Even if you are not into racing, learning to move more gracefully on your board will benefit you. Either way, learning to move your body in dynamic and efficient ways helps you move better in any athletic endeavors as well as life!
Race starts generally intimidate most everyone to some degree so knowing your terrain, competitors and your own limitations is a key to helping pick the right place for you to start.
There will be a short piece on fueling for training, racing and life.
Clinics will led by Jen Fuller Fitness
