We are walking in honor and memory of Declan Thomas Nowak. His life will be honored as Out of the Ashes Foundation uses its resources to serve more and more bereaved parents through their ministry.
Declan's Story:
We found out we were expecting for the first time December 2023. By the spring, we found out we were having a boy and had shared our news with friends and family - we were so excited to be parents!
After a relatively easy and smooth pregnancy, I went in for what was supposed to be a routine growth scan at almost 37 weeks to make sure Declan was head down and getting ready to meet us. It was then that we discovered he had no heartbeat and was already in the arms of Jesus. I was induced that night and delivered Declan on August 10th, 2024. He was 4lbs 12oz with a full head of hair. We spent about 24 hours with him and he lives in our hearts each and every day. His time with us was short, but his impact is lasting.
We recently shared that Declan is a big brother and we are expecting his baby sister in December. While this doesn’t look the way we imagined before, I like to believe our babies have already met. This little one was hand-picked by Declan, not to replace him, but to help heal our family.
