Steps for Healing 5K Supporting CBC

WHY MY FAMILY IS FUNDRAISING WITH THE CHILDREN'S BEREAVEMENT CENTER  
I am taking Steps for Healing in the 2025 5K Run/Walk to provide free grief support for children, teens and adults who have lost a loved one. 

I am running not only in honor of my father, Karl Lunkenheimer, my stepfather, Gilles Richard, and my siblings—who all could have benefited from an organization like CBC during our own time of loss—but also in honor of every family who has endured tragedy this year. From those grieving after devastating floods to the families impacted by school shootings to those families losing a family member to illness, countless children and adults are struggling to cope with unimaginable loss. Organizations like CBC provide the support and compassion they need to navigate grief and begin to heal. No one should ever have to face loss alone.

When you make a gift to my Run/Walk, you are directly supporting grieving individuals who need support, camaraderie, and hope to lift from loss. All contributions benefit Children's Bereavement Center so that there are free grief support groups for all.
