Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and donating

For over 38 years the Families Behind the Badge Children's Foundation has sought out meaningful ways to support our region's first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and help build healthy connections in the communities they serve - the calling to which they have devoted their lives. This year they will continue to do so by aiming to raise $2 Million at the 38th Annual Ben to the Shore Bike Tour.

On Sunday, July 20st, I will be among 4,000 cyclists who will make this 65-mile trek from Philadelphia to a celebratory finish at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City. I'm excited to participate and support their initiatives. From their support for families of fallen and injured first responders to their work cultivating positive relationships between police officers and the children in the communities they serve, I am passionate that the work they are doing is truly making a positive impact in our community.

This will be the 10th year I have taken this ride.  I got into cycling through my late Uncle Mike who was an avid rider.  Though I never got a chance to ride with him before he passed, each year I participate using his road bike to honor him in hopes he is watching and is proud to see me support such a great cause.  My mother also loved welcoming me to Atlantic City each year.  I will miss her at the finish line but she will be with me along to way.

The Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation (FBBCF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit committed to improving the lives of children in the Greater Philadelphia and South Jersey area. We achieve this by providing necessary financial relief for the families of fallen or critically injured first responders (police officers, firefighters, EMTs) and cultivating positive relationships and interactions between police officers and the children in the communities they serve.
