Hello! You have probably received this request from me in the past but I hope you can help again this year. You can join me in participating (register at pedal4possible.org) and/or make a donation to empower patients with spinal cord and brain injury redefine possible.
I have been working as a Recreational Therapist at Craig Hospital for more than 44 years--in fact, it's my first job out of college! Craig is one of the top rehabilitation centers in the United States for people who have experienced a spinal cord injury and/or traumatic brain injury. It is a special place and, if you've ever interacted with a former patient or been to the campus, you know this is true. Craig goes above and beyond the typical rehabilitation therapies to meet each patient's needs and give them the tools and resources necessary to achieve independence following an injury. My having this longevity as an employee at Craig can assure you that it is an organization that I am passionate about and that I feel is truly deserving of any donation you are able to make.
Pedal 4 Possible is the annual bike ride and fundraiser for the disciplines at Craig that are extremely beneficial to the patients but are not funded by insurance, such as Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Community Reintegration, Assistive Technology, Nurse Advice Line, the School Program and more. These programs rely on fundraising and donors like you.
I know that times are tough and money is tight, but I would really appreciate it if you could find it in your heart to make a donation to this worthy cause. Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive a receipt via email if you donate through the website. You can mail it to Craig Hospital Foundation, 3425 South Clarkson Street, Englewood, CO, 80113. You will get a receipt in the mail if you mail in a check.
